A
wireless link to your instrument system and pilot controller
in the palm of your hand
Originally conceived following talks with Ellen MacArthur
following her request to be able to access vital B&G data and
control her autopilot wherever she was, whatever she was doing
on the boat. “I’m so
pleased B&G have developed RemoteVision, it gives me total
control of my boat from wherever I am on board, it enables me
to view vital information, take balanced decisions and act
quickly & safely, benefiting from the tactical advantage of my
B&G data.”

RemoteVision as
used by Ellen
MacArthur, fastest
woman to sail
single-handed
around the world. |
Ideal for cruising or
racing sailors alike
How does it work?
The
lightweight, palm sized unit is linked to the instrument and
pilot control network through a small base station and secure
wireless connection, suitable for use on both small and large
vessels. Each unit is paired to the base station on your boat
through a unique pin number, ensuring total security and
control within the boats own system.
Who is
it for?
RemoteVision is the “must have” tool for any sailor, whether
single handed, with crew, racing or cruising. It offers you,
full wireless access to B&G Hydra and Hercules instrument and
pilot systems and enables you to do everything you can with
the regular Full Function and Pilot displays and more!
Simple
to use!
The
control buttons operate through simple mobile phone logic. On,
off, autopilot dodge, port and starboard and joystick control
to easily navigate through the menu. The clear graphical
display will show any information from your instruments or
pilot during day, or night with the aid of the backlight.
Control of your boat at the touch of a button
View
data from your system, including boat speed, wind, depth or
heading data in the palm of your hand, wherever you may be on
the boat. Check your heading and bearing to waypoint and alter
course by a few degrees, or maneuver the boat in an emergency.
All done simply and quickly from wherever you are; changing
sails on deck, or even climbing the mast!
Simple to install and easy to use
RemoteVision is not just for new systems; it can be easily
Retro-fitted to most B&G Hercules or Hydra systems.
Installation is simple and takes a matter of minutes, through
a single cable connection from the small base unit onto the
B&G network.
Vital
Information always to hand
Take
vital tactical decisions from wind shifts, or study graphical
time plots of any instrument data such as true wind speed or
direction, or even barometric pressure when you’re cruising
offshore. You can even view your expected heading on the
opposite tack.
Accurate instrument calibration made easy
RemoteVision makes B&G so simple to use. It’s never been so
easy to calibrate your instruments. For instance, to calibrate
true wind direction, just sail the boat on each tack and make
a note of your true wind direction each time, or view data on
the time plots; if there is a difference from tack to tack,
simply access the calibration tables with the joystick and
enter in your new offset values.
Safety
First, wherever you are
One of
the most outstanding safety features is the alarm answer mode.
Set and monitor alarms whilst resting in your bunk, so that if
the system senses the vessel heading off course, the
controller can be used to answer alarms and set pilot
parameters without having to be at the chart table or on deck.
Full
system control
Edit
the way you or your crew view instrument displays such as
20/20s or 40/40s, or even turn on display lighting when it
gets dark. Set the Race timer, or view it personally in the
palm of your hand whilst sitting on the rail.
Keep
up to date
Upgrade RemoteVision software quickly and simply from a PC or
PDA through the wireless link.
