HOW'S IT WORK?

  1. Two Transducers are incorporated in a single housing.
  2. Small particles present in the water pass through the beam.
  3. The speed sensor uses ultrasonic pulses to collect echoes from the particles in the water as they pass under two ceramics embedded in the sensor.
  4. As the boat travels through the water, both ceramics "view" the same stream of particles. Because it takes time for particles to travel between the two ceramics, the fore ceramic detects the particles before the aft.
  5. The ultrasonic measures the time lapse between the particles passing the first and second ceramic, thus calculating boat speed.

RATE OF SPEED CALCULATION, within the Ultrasonic speed transducer ensures that the data output is very accurate and up to date. As a result, the dumping that is usually necessary for a paddlewheel sensor output is vastly reduced.
